The Beginning
Peter's New Jobs was founded by Peter Szmyt. Frustrated with what was offered by the free online job boards, he created his own service to help him with his personal search efforts and later, began to share his results with other job searchers. As the service and workload grew, Peter started charging a nominal fee to support his efforts.
Partnership and Expansion
Len Fardella partnered with Peter, officially launching Peter's New Jobs. Len, a marketing veteran of the Ottawa hi tech industry expanded PNJ's subscriber base and developed new partnerships. PNJ has forged relationships with numerous non-profit organizations that work with the unemployed in both Ottawa and Toronto. PNJ currently works with organizations such as the Ottawa Talent initiative, Youth Services Bureau, City of Ottawa, Employees in Motion and many others. Since 2004, PNJ has grown over 400%.
Len and his spouse Nancy Mooney purchased Peter's share of PNJ in 2008 transforming PNJ into a family run business.
Nancy is responsible for all operational activities at Peter's New Jobs. This includes the key areas of subscription and customer service for the company as well as managing our part-time employees. Len assumed the role of President with the purchase and manages all business development and technical responsibilities.
What's Next?
During late 2009, Len and Nancy will be refreshing Peter's New Jobs further expanding the functionality and service. The new look and feel website is the beginning of those changes.
